Niyamas Series (3/5)
Yoga has 8 limbs or facets. Most people in the Western world are familiar with the poses, called asanas but there are 7 other parts of yoga that often go ignored in studios. In this series, we'll deep dive into the 2nd limb, called the Niyamas.
The Niyamas are a set of principles offering us guidance of how to live our lives. They build character and increase happiness by moving us towards an authentic and meaningful life.
We'll meet every other Saturday 10 to 11:30 am as follows; come for one or all ($40 each):
Sept. 19: Saucha (Cleanliness): Keeping mind, body, space, & relationships healthy, clean & clear. Purity.
Oct. 3: Santosha (Contentment): Accept & appreciate exactly what we have and how things are in this very moment. Peace. Joy. Satisfaction.
Oct. 17: Tapas (Self-Discipline): Tapas means heat; it's using that heat, that discipline, to drive your passion and purpose.
Oct. 31: Svadhyaya (Self-Study): Self-reflection, observation, and awareness of self, habits, patterns, to connect more deeply with yourself.
Nov. 14: Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender): Surrender to something greater than you: God. Universe. Life Force. Spirit. Or something else.
